I usually start by taking them through their basic understanding of their cameras. Once they know that I can focus on the requirements and build lighting and composition around that. If they need posing or speciality training I can break away and focus on their needs.
All types of students from middle school through to college. I have also trained and taught adults.
They have to know their cameras settings a capabilities. Being able to change and adapt quickly to the environment is also very important to getting great photographs. You have to be able think on your feet all the time.
Weddings are unique events and each time dealing with a new client and event has its own quirks and fond memories. ConvincIng a room of just women in bathrobes to pose and have fun is always the highlight of creating great wedding photographs.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Know what you want. Where do have the most fun and enjoyment. It is not about the money you can make. That will come later. Can you get up each morning excited that you are going to be photographing the same thing over and over again?
