About Victoria
I adapt my teaching style for each student to better fit your needs! I know firsthand the frustrations of wanting to get better in a certain area and feeling like a teacher is holding you back. You tell me what your goals are and I will adjust our learning so we can start heading towards that goal.
For piano, we can work on classical, chord theory, or by-ear playing! We'll set the music theory foundation together and then I'll take you learning as fast as you like so you can get to playing stuff that you actually ENJOY.
For vocal lessons, I like to focus on understanding the structure of the voice in the body, resonation placement, and breath support. I also like to include ear training to make your notes more spot on!
For acoustic guitar, we'll focus on chords, hand placement, strumming patterns, and I might throw in a little fingerstyle guitar and alternate tunings if you're down for some fun.
Speaking of fun, focus is great when it comes to learning music but we can also laugh a little to keep the motivation when the going gets tough! :)
For those looking to get involved in a church band setting: I can specialize training in this area that many teachers never do. I have years of experience playing in church as a music director and lead keys player and we can focus your learning to be ready to play in that type of setting if that is a goal you have!
I love seeing students progress and play pieces that are more and more complex, or see them open up a part of their voice that was hard to reach before. I love to see my students laugh and have fun during a lesson! Music is meant to be enjoyed :)
I started teaching private piano lessons before college, and taught more during and after, as well as acoustic guitar lessons and music theory tutoring during college. In 2017 I started working at a music school in the DFW area, and have taught Piano, Voice and Guitar there, and have also instructed in vocals and ukulele at a charter school in the area.
I started playing the piano over 25 years ago (most my life!). I took various lessons including Suzuki and classical piano methods. In college I studied chord theory and music theory. I worked out much of my knowledge practically in church band settings and became a music director and a lead keys player at the River at Tampa Bay Church, as well as an instructor for the River School of Worship in 2014. Between 2013-2016 I was heavily involved in the interworkings of the bands for Chapel services, weekly servives, and conferences (16 services per conference) and played in many of those services on Keys, Bass or Acoustic. In 2017 I moved to Texas and began working for a music school in the area teaching children and adults and was able to instruct over 100 students there. Subjects I have taught include Piano, Voice, Guitar and Ukulele.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What style of music are you looking to be able to play or sing?
Do you want to play complex fingered pieces with sheet music (classical) or maybe just some pop songs (chords)?
What parts of your voice do you feel like you're having trouble with when you sing a song?
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
In the short time that I was able to have guitar lessons, Victoria gave me very valuable information that gave me a foundation on which I could build myself up from when I had to start teaching myself (due to scheduling). She was very thorough, patient, and easy to understand. If anyone is looking for a teacher, I recommend that you look no further than Victoria. 10/10 teacher :)
