About Maya
Hi Porter! I’ve been teaching classical piano for the past 13 years. My lessons include a balance of all the skills you need to jumpstart both classical playing, and playing pop style chords by ear!
I’ve taught in private music schools from Austin to Pensacola, including at the Music Academy of Acadiana in 2014, the year they were voted #1 private music academy in the nation.
I am also trained in the Mayron Cole Method, which has a strong emphasis on rhythm and performance skills.

Piano lessons with Maya are the best! She’s delightful to work with, takes her students far when they’ve struggled with other instructors, and she keeps it fun while they’re learning more than ever … and her students have the best technique at every recital! She seems to have a talent for figuring out what her students need and want so they stay interested long-term, which has allowed development beyond expectations!
