About Beth

Because I am fun to take from. Piano lessons are not the easiest undertaking, so it must be made light hearted and playful for the young and old or it’s grueling. It’s thorough as well.

I taught classroom music in a preschool where my now grown children attended (Buntyn Preschool) and many parents asked me to give them and their children private lessons. It took off from there. I have been teaching at Studio 708 with Isabelle Welch. She has moved and sold the studio. I am now teaching at Circle Music on Brookhaven Circle.

I have played since I was 2 years old, I play professionally. I studied under Martin Berkofsky as a child and teen. I have given lessons since 1992. I was born with the gift of being able to play by ear, have developed this over time. If you have this gift I can teach you how to develop it. However you won’t get very far without the knowledge that comes from knowing how to read music.

About the lesson

Everyone learns in their own unique way. I find it important to assess their learning style and comfort level immediately, then teach within that framework. A piano lesson must be made like a game for children else they shy away. I want them to feel accomplished after every lesson. I have taught for many years,am energetic and fun spirited, and my goal is to make lessons fun while they learn at their own pace!!

All kinds. Every age! Several nationalities, some students with special needs.....I do not aim to create piano prodigies, I simply want to instill the joy gained by knowing how to play beautifully.

Please be particular regarding who you choose to take piano lessons from. You want somebody who cares about understanding how you learn and the amount of time you want to devote to this endeavor. Most people are overbooked these days including children. This experience needs to be joyful and unpressured.

All you really need to know is that learning to play the piano is supposed to be fun while being work! You are attaining a skill that will bring you and others around you some top notch joy!!
