About Dina

The Music Mavens are a teaching platform for non-beginners. Students must audition to be accepted. By becoming a Maven we take your raw talent and hard work and give you all of the skills necessary to be a professional musician.

I love the “aha” moment. When a student is working hard and just can’t get a particular part cause the fingering is off or he’s not quite understanding the rhythms or where he should be enunciating....and then he gets it, it finally clicks and it becomes smooth. That’s when I sit back and say “fly”. Just go and be.

I began learning piano at age 4. By age 6 I was competing. By 12 I had performed at Carnegie Hall and had been named New York’s Top Pianist. I realized that the methods I was using for myself combined with my talent were working rapidly. I sought out a way to hone those skills to share with others.

I am an award winning classical pianist. I hold education from the Juilliard’s School of Music, Mannes college of Music, the San Francisco conservatory of Music.

About the lesson

Each student gets customized lesson plans to suit their needs.

All kinda of students have passed through. I used to teach beginners but found this practice not helpful to building my business as beginners don’t want to fine tune themselves yet, sometimes only stick with music for a short amount of time and haven’t found that they are in love with their instrument yet. What I do is really very different than anyone else and my knowledge is best to help someone hone their craft. Anyone can teach the ABCs of music, I can turn you into an artist.

The student auditions the teacher as well. If you want to be the best you need to study from the best. I’ve auditioned every teacher I’ve worked with. I want to know if my money is going to go to the lengths I desire it to. I am always fully prepared with pieces to play for prospective students and I perform annually in a gala that my students are mandated to attend. It’s about working together.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I’m really not the person to come to if you just want to play/sing a song a grandmas 89th birthday party. Can I? Of course but my time is more expensive than a local music lesson shop in town would be simply because I have perfected my craft. I don’t have a degree from a local college I have training from famous musicians all over the world and in working with me, my students now have access to this....and in Long Island! When I was young I had to travel so far, get home schooled just to make it into Manhattan and lay an arm and a leg. I am making it accessible. You WILL get into a Conservatory with my training, you will score high in NYSSMA, you can learn to build a life as a musician. Figure out what you want and give me a dream goal and a realistic goal.
