About Cherie
Playing the piano has been a big part of my life since I was five years old, even in high school, college and in my adult life when I extended my studies to piano competitions and my career to teaching private piano lessons when my own children were little and later general music classes (with an Orff-Schulwerk approach) in Early Childhood in an Independent school. I am currently an Associate Head of School for Early Childhood and Lower Division and have my Masters's Degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood focus.
I have a passion for starting young children on a journey of music and introducing them to the king of all instruments, a foundation that they will have for the rest of their musical life. I believe in exposing them to a variety of genres of music allowing them to experience the joy that music brings the world.

I have studied and performed piano for over 20 years. I have an Orff-Schulwerk I certification.
I taught private piano lessons for 6 years and music for Early Childhood in a private school for 12 years.
I have a Masters in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Focus.

To get started, please email, text or call me to set up an initial free consultation. We will meet and talk about how the lessons will work and get to know each other a bit to see if we are meeting each other's expectations.
Instructional piano books will be assigned for purchase - either you can buy them yourself or I can pick them up and charge you for them.
Lessons for beginners and intermediate students will be 30 minutes and will generally consist of a warm-up, theory, reviewing assigned practice, new work, and music appreciation.
