About Hannah
I am a college student who loves programming and has experience working with children and teens from elementary school through high school. I tutor in both Java and Python and enjoy helping others become more fluent in and find joy in coding. My goal is to teach coding in a way that is fun and accessible. I work to create projects and lesson that are applicable to personal projects and help show the possibilities of what can be built and expressed through code.

I love the problem solving and creative aspects of programming as well as the flexibility in what you can create with it. I enjoy tutoring because it is an opportunity to share what I love with others!
I am a college student currently studying both Python and Java. I also have previous experience working with children both as a tutor and in previous jobs. Outside of tutoring, I have previously worked in a daycare, a summercamp, and in children's art classes.

I first like to begin by evaluating where a student is at already. If they have ever coded before I will often ask to see an example of something they may currently be working on, or if they have not I will speak with them to see where their starting level of understanding is. I also ask about their interests and what their goals are to help guide me in which projects and topics will be the most helpful for them.
I will then start with small projects to help them develop new skills and tools they can use in their code and grow these projects/lessons over time. I am also always happy to help breakdown the steps necessary to create a project a student may be wanting to create and help support and guide them through that process.
