About Brittany

I was taught how to sew by hand at a very young age and have been doing it literally ever since. I was sent to a technical school my senior year in high school for pattern drafting and construction. I graduated with honors and got a scholarship to Savannah College of Art and Design. After finding the South was not my cup of tea, I transfered and finished out my fashion design & marketing studies at American Intercontinental University of London.

After returning state side I created my first business and made ready to wear women's wear and worked on a plethora of custom designs for clients from christening gowns to wedding dresses. I showed in countless fashion weeks across America, made it to top 5 in St Louis Project Design! and was voted Best Kansas City Designer in 2012.

I have ran six brick and mortar stores with my children's clothing designs which I transitioned to a solely online brand (and still run today). In my spare time I enjoy doing custom pieces from time to time for clients and teach others my beloved craft!

I have been sewing since I was three years old! I enjoy passing on this age old tradition to others, as my grandmother did to me. From sketch to creation I love seeing my students be so proud of themselves of making something on their own from scratch. It's a wonderful skill to have and brings out the creativity in anyone!

I have been asked many times over the years through my business if I would be able to teach others how to do what I do. Everytime I have done so I have really enjoyed the process.

I have taught sewing in my studio to young cildren who wanted to learn to adults. I went to technical school and university for fashion design and construction. As well as have been running my own business since 2009 on my own sewing creations.

About the lesson

I am available to teach online or if you are local to my area would be more than happy for you to come to me and teach you in person. We can work on a specific project (or goal) or we can start whereever your skills are and I will teach you what you are wanting to know about sewing. I have taught from beginner to expert levels.

I have worked with young children as young as three up to adults of every generation. I have worked with students that are very well versed in sewing and were looking to fine tune their skills or learn pattern drafting and more complex techniques as well as others who have never sewn before. Despite your age or level, I would love to teach you and share my love of sewing.
