Evaluate students skills and determine goals. Collaborative process, keeping process simple to avoid discouraging student.
Most of my experience has been working with children in nonformal settings in outdoor summer camps.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are their skill goals and materials budget. What kind of projects would they like to try and what kind of time and workspace do they have to devote to their projects. Embroidery doesn't take much space, but sewing needs at least a table top with good lighting for cutting out patterns.
