My name is Cristy Anderson, and I have been sewing since I was a little girl. Now at age 52, I have been teaching almost 16 years. I was located in Mississippi, but my family just moved to Rock Hill, SC right outside the Charlotte area. I can come to you if I know you, or you can come to me or to another (safe) location. I will have a location probably within the next year.

I am a good teacher. I'm not an expert seamstress - meaning I don't teach fancy ballgowns, but I am good at teaching beginning and intermediate sewing so you WILL know how to use your machine and make some great projects. ps - So...how did I come up with Aerybeth?? It is my daughter's first and middle name together - I thank my sis in law Jessica for coming up with it. I started making hairbows when she was born and then clothing - found out I couldn't keep up with requests. So.... I started teaching how to make them instead! :)

I absolutely love teaching... I love seeing the face of children and adults when they get it! I have had so many come to me that were afraid to try because of a bad experience in school long ago, or they were afraid of the needle. When they leave with a completed project and no fear... that just is awesome!

I am so glad I do something I love!

About the lesson

I start with whether they have a sewing machine at all or if they need recommendations. Then I see what their initial level is - beginner or never touched a machine. We go from there.. basics first - threading, running a bobbin, basic stitches. I also find out what their interests are - what would you like to sew? Then we just jump in! :)

Cristy is a wonderful teacher. My daughter and I both took separate lessons from her. She was patient and kind with both of us and the lessons were done so that an 8y/o and a 40+y/o could understand. We now both have confidence with our sewing abilities so much so, that I joined a ladies sewing group this year. And Caitlyn has no fear to make what she wants. I highly recommend Cristy!
