About Jensen

Professional musical theatre artist with international credits. I teach from a performers perspective, giving a real experience. Experienced in pop/rock/opera/jazz/musical theatre. Experienced recording and live performance artist.

Watching students develop their skill. Whether a novice or an expert. Whether they're looking to sing for fun or for profession, I enjoy seeing the student attain the goals they set out for themselves. I work with all ages, levels and abilities.

Working as a professional performer myself I was approached to teach vocals for recording purposes for established labels and studios, and for stage performance and then working with individuals and groups on performance projects, live performance projects.

I studied Performing Arts at Guildhall School of Music & Drama and Middlesex University in London, UK, majoring in musical theatre.

As a vocalist, I have over 30 years professional experience in classical, pop, jazz, rock, opera and musical theatre genres. I have extensive professional stage credits internationally.

I have recorded on and provided vocals on a collection of tracks and albums internationally, concept albums, original compositions. I have also an extensive catalog of my own recorded work.

I have worked with students of all ages and abilities individually and in a group setting for performance, group performance, theatre, musical theatre, audition preparation for performing arts school and colleges.

I teach vocals, dance, and acting, across private music schools in New Jersey along with musical theatre classes.

I have experience working with various vocal groups developing harmony and performance preparation internationally. Devised and developed productions for tour internationally, working with the groups' artists individually and with the groups as a whole to get them performance ready before heading out on the road.

About the lesson

Following an initial consultation, lessons are tailor made to the individual. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced vocalist for leisure or for professional purposes we will work together to develop and maximise your vocal ability and performance. The first lesson is free! During this lesson we will work together to assess your vocal ability and capacity and form a forward plan working with songs that we can choose that you would enjoy singing as part of the learning process. It is recommended to take one session per week. In between sessions I would set tasks... nothing too demanding!.. to work on before our next session.

All sorts! From the shy absolute beginner who would just like to sing for fun up to the next future musical theatre performer or general vocal performer.

Be confident in your abilities and enjoy the process of vocal lessons. You can develop a passion for music and what the voice is capable of.

West coast trip of USA - awesome awesome trip across Arizona, Utah, Nevada, taking in the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion Park, Lake Powell and onto Las Vegas and finally San Francisco. Amazing!
