About Priya

Hello and welcome :)

With over 15 years as a vocal student and performer, and a Masters in Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, I have a wide range of knowledge of diverse types of singing instruction.

My greatest joy is when a student or client is feeling fulfilled, is aware of progress happening, demonstrates eagerness to continue, and takes initiative outside of sessions to develop their skills; this is what I hope my instruction will always inspire.

Together, we will weave important pedagogical concepts into sessions, shape & evaluate your goals and develop sustainable vocal practice (physical, speech & singing warm ups, and performance techniques)

My studio prioritizes deepening or developing a connection with the joy of singing, and, then, freeing the music within (singing the desired repertoire) will require getting comfortable with imperfection as we help your expression respond ever more naturally to the concepts and connections you’re making to music and sound in your mind, on your sheet music.

Some other goals of the studio:

- Study of voice is made more easily accessible and digestible for students

- Students build increased connections to their joy of life, their voice and sharing music with others

- Partner w/ students in development of sustainable singing practice, life-long careers and ever-growing love of singing
