About Šara
Bilingual Birdies Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina provides French and Spanish language-learning for children ages 0–6 and their caregivers. The program uses a play-based curriculum that integrates live music, movement, and puppetry to build early vocabulary and foster cross-cultural awareness. Classes are taught by trained and certified educators and led locally by founder Dr. Šara Stranovsky, a trilingual performer with a PhD in Performance and Cultural Studies.
Offerings include in-person and virtual caregiver-and-child classes, after-school programs, preschool partnerships, private lessons, and bilingual birthday parties. Typical in-person sessions run 45 minutes. Enrolled families receive take-home materials to extend learning, including monthly bilingual ebooks, music album downloads, lyrics pages, vocabulary sheets, and a plush mini birdie puppet each semester.
Bilingual Birdies Asheville is part of the Bilingual Birdies network, founded in New York City in 2006, which serves thousands of children across cities in the United States, Canada, Australia, Latin America, and the Middle East through its teacher certification program.
