About Aranza
I am passionate about teaching not only academically but artistically, emotionally, and behavior-wise. My teaching methods involve assessing the child's individual strengths and weaknesses and using that to help him/her learn and retain information more effectively. As well as using psychology methods to understand why and how to help a child express their concerns when it comes to a school subject.
I have been tutoring since I was in high school. I've tutored everything from Algebra to English. I am most passionate about Writing, English, and Speech. Which is where I exceed. My students have improved their English and writing skills in a matter of 3 months. I've taught students from my High School, college-level , and elementary students.
I graduated from Texas A&M International University with a B.A in Psychology. I've taken various courses that help understand child development, learning, and intelligence. I am currently continuing education with a Master of Science in Psychology. I've received honor roll, dean's list, and volunteer hours throughout my undergrad education. I will gladly send in my resume upon request or you can always check out my LinkedIn account or website for more information.

As a student I was categorized as Gifted and Talented my school had low funding and that is where I volunteered to tutor my peers. I started teaching math, reading, and writing. I started out giving free lessons and after I graduated High school I started charging. My love for teaching stems from an early age and I believe that learning is very important part of life.
I have received a B.A in Psychology. I took various courses relating to learning, intelligence, child development, child stages, and behavior. I have taken courses that encouraged me to develop my own 20-page research essays on various topics related to psychology, learning, and child behavior. I have been tutoring since I was a high school student and have loved every second of it.

My first step is to gather information from the primary parent. Their concerns and suggestions about how their child usually perceives information. My next step is to talk to the student and understand why they are struggling with the subject. I ask about their likes and dislikes in order to make learning fun and catered to the way they learn best.
I have worked with at-risk high school students, college students struggling with studying, elementary students with learning difficulties, children with ADHD, children with behavior issues. I mostly focus on children because I want to ultimately become a child, Psychologists.
Always look for someone who is passionate about the subject, learning, teaching, and comfort. Remember strict does not always mean that the tutor is good. What separates a good tutor form a bad tutor is the way they approach teaching. Always look for someone who is willing to put effort into your learning.
My most recent student struggled with ADHD he had difficulty with his attention and behavior. At first, I did give him various 10-minute breaks. This involved drawing educational things like life-cycle, rock-cycle, or anything we were learning that week. We often went on walks or nature adventures where I would teach him about basic elementary science. After a couple of weeks, I was able to sit with him for a whole hour of learning which for a child with ADHD can be very difficult. His writing, reading and ultimately speech improved. At the end of the year, the teacher had an online farewell and my student ended up getting a certificate for most improved writing. I felt joy and proud of my student's newfound abilities.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is it that he/she needs to improve on? Most often students think they aren't smart enough but in reality, they are approaching the problem wrong.
Write down why you think you need help and understand where that stems from. sometimes we struggle with something not because it is hard but because we have closed ourselves out.
Always have an open mind. teachers are here to help not to judge.
talk to your friends and ask how they approach that subject. sometimes it is a matter of studying habits rather than intellect.
