About Andrea

Hola, my name is Andrea Pino and I am originally from San José, Costa Rica. I am a native Spanish speaker, and although my passion is working for kids I absolutely LOVE working with students of all ages and helping them reach their goal of broadening their linguistic barriers.

I am very patient when it comes to teaching, and I believe that hands on learning works much better than simply reading textbooks over and over. So, whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or an advanced learner get ready to have some real conversations in Spanish.

I love meeting new people and helping them reach their goals. I am a firm believer that it is never too early or too late to reach a new goal, and if learning Spanish is your goal I want to help you.

i enjoy making lessons fun, dynamic, entertaining, and also sharing a little bit about my Hispanic cultural background.

I am currently a senior at Liberty University studying journalism and law. However, the main thing that would qualify me to teach Spanish is that I am a native Spanish speaker.
I taught children from Kindergarten- 8th grade for 2 years after graduating high school, and the main lesson I learned is that everyone learns at a different pace so it is important to relate to my students and communicate with them in a way that allows them to get the most out of each lesson.

About the lesson

The first thing I do when I meet with a new student is discuss what their goals are (is it learning conversational Spanish? Do they want to specialize more on a certain area? Do they want to learn reading and writing as well? etc.)

After setting some goals, I come up with an individualized lesson plan that caters specifically to my students wants and needs and we work our way from there. This allows each of my students to learn at their own pace and to set unique goals that will prove practical and beneficial to them.

I have mostly worked woth younger students from kindergarten all the way to 8th grade. I absolutely love working with children, however I greatly enjoy teaching students of all ages and backgrounds.

I wouod advise syudents to find a teacher that they can feel 100% comfortable with. It is important to have good communications and "chemistry" with your teacher in order to make learning a new language enjoyable and exciting. It is not so much about the years if experience, what really matters is the energy of your teacher and if he/she can individualize the learning process according to your needs.
