About Shelby
My tutoring is completely tailored to the individual that I am working with. I will build lessons from scratch, and have various resources at my disposal ranging from beginning Spanish to more advanced Spanish. I start at the student's experience level and build from there. I provide various materials, from worksheets, quizzes, games, and reading material. I try hard to make sure each session is enjoyable and beneficial.
I am passionate about the Spanish language, and love to share that passion with others! There is something beautiful about being able to connect with someone in a different language, and I want to help students find that joy. I believe Spanish is not only useful, but almost necessary in today's society, and my wish is to connect with students, build relationships, and help them in return connect and build relationships with others.
I graduated from Anderson University with a minor in Spanish and worked as a Spanish tutor for almost two years. I have loved Spanish most of my life, studied for four years in high school, joined the Spanish Club, and then studied for four more years in college. I love the language, and I love the culture, and I love when I am able to share both with others.
I studied Spanish in high school for four years, and continued in college, where I decided to minor in it.

My first session with a new student is getting to know them and their level of Spanish, and identifying where I need to begin lessons. I will ask the student personally what they would like to focus on, such as specific areas of grammar, conversation, etc. Over the next couple sessions I will try to assess how the student learns best, and how I can be most effective with my lessons.
