About JOJO
I have worked with a variety of age groups from children, teens, adults and older adults, I have also worked in different settings such as private in person classes, online teaching and classroom settings. All of these different experiences have thought me that the first step to successfully teach is by understanding the learning style of the student and building a curriculum based on their way to absorb and retain information. The classes will be designed specifically for the student, they will be interactive, playful and will keep the student interested in learning.
I am Latina and attended two years of high school in The Dominican Republic, this experience helped shape my use of Spanish and further lengthen my vocabulary. I also hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in linguistics, my education assures you that not only I can speak Spanish fluently but that you will receive outstanding proper education.
Teaching has always been a passion of mine, I believe that through education we can make the world a better place, it sounds cliché, but I truly believe that by learning a new language you become kinder, more understanding and compassionate toward other cultures, which is absolutely necessary in the world that we live in today.

Typically I will assess the education level of the student so I can create a curriculum desiged to meet their needs. After evaluating the student we will play or have different dialogues (depends on the age and level) to get to know each other and build an open and comfortable space in which the student can trust me as their teacher. Once these steps have been completed I proceed to start teaching with various lesson plans.
