About Siobhan
Hi! I am an Elementary Special Education teacher in Cambridge MA with 8 years of teaching experience. I have experience working with students with a variety of needs and skill sets, including students with Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism, Social Emotional, and Developmental Delays.
I love working with children and seeing their growth and development in all areas. It brings me joy to see the excitement in on their faces as they master a new skill and see their success. I enjoy working with children in all areas of development including academics, communication, and social skills.
I gained an interest in teaching when I started working at a summer camp for individuals with Special Needs in high school. This fueled my passion and led me on a path to pursue a degree in Special Education. I have a love for learning and have continued my journey as a lifelong learner by continuing to take coursework, so I can better serve my students.
I have a BA in Moderate Special Education,a BA in Mathematics, a Specialization in Teaching English Language Learners, a MEd in Severe Special Education, in progress of completing a Special Education Administrator Post Masters Program, and have taken 20 classes outside of my degree programs in education coursework.

It is important to develop a rapport with my students. I want to create a bond and relationship, so that my students develop a sense of trust in me. I want to learn their interests so I can tailor lessons to ensure that my students are engaged.
I have worked with students in grades 1-5 with a variety of needs. I have worked with students who have learning disabilities, Autism and related communication disorders, developmental disabilities, and students with social emotional needs.
