About Melanie
I have been teaching and coaching swimming for six years. My passion for swimming began when I first learned to swim as a toddler, I then joined a summer swim team and soon began swimming competitively year round. I have experience teaching swim lessons to everyone from infants getting acclimated to the water, to kids working on stroke technique, to adults learning to swim for the first time. I was a coach of a summer swim team for 6 summers and have been coaching a USA registered swim team for the last three years. I also have worked as a swim lesson supervisor in addition to teaching lessons of my own.
My favorite thing about teaching swimming is experiencing the sense of accomplishment that comes along with a new swimming skill. Whether it is getting over a fear of getting their face wet or perfecting a flipturn, I love to see my students meet their milestones along the way to being a confident swimmer!
I swam competitively myself for 14 years and have been teaching swim lessons for 6 years. I have been a swim lesson instructor and supervisor as well as a USA certified swim coach.

When I first meet a new swimmer I first like to find out from them what their current swimming ability is and where they would like to be at the end of their lessons. I know that every swimmer has a different end goal and it is important to me to tailor a plan that meets their goals!
I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, from infants to adults and from beginners to very accomplished swimmers.
