About Priscilla
I am constantly learning as well as teaching! I also make sure inclusion is practiced. I will make sure its fun and I will listen to what you wish to accomplish with class :) I have been teaching for over 20 years. I am cpr, first aide and add certified. I am also shallow water lifeguard certified. Anything you are interested in? Let me know!
I love teaching! I love the look on people's faces, and the happy feeling when they learn something new!
When I was 12, I would, instead of recess, teach a 20 min arts and crafts class (1st grade) once a week. I lead the whole craft and captured the childrens attention for the entire time. I planned the crafts on my own, gave the teacher a supply list the week before the class, and before the class I would portion everything into individual containers to pass out. One of the 1st graders entered a bunny necklace ( which was one of my lessons) in an art fair that won him 1st prize, thanked me for helping him with art and making it fun. Since then I knew this is my life's calling!
I have 20+ yrs of experience. My training has came from various ymca's, public schools, Catholic schools, swim school, and home daycares.
I am 1st aide, CPR, and AED certified ( infant, child, adult)
I am shallow water lifeguard certified
I have also taught in the Neuro divergent population, (down syndrome, autism, adhd sensory disorders, and many more. Infant through adults ) in swim lessons, sports and arts.
I am currently taking accredited classes in sensory activities for infant through toddler.
I am always looking for new hobbies to master and teach as well!!!

One of my most recent classes, a little girl who is 2 1/2. She started classes a month ago and was terrified of the pool. Once a week, for 30 minutes she came. On the 4th class she came in smiling, as opposed to looking unsure, and participated gleefully in all her skills. I hadn't forced her to put her face in, just her chin. The last five minutes of games, we attempted a dive toy, her choice. She went underwater and got the dive toy at 2 ft. YAY! Then she wanted to try 4 feet. YAY!! She did it again! She pushed off the bottom of the pool and resurfaced with a huge smile. Moments like this is why I love my job. :)
