I will begin by discussing with a student how comfortable she/he is with swimming in a pool, and follow with discussing how much experience the student has.
Depending on the student's experience and swimming capabilities, I will decide where to begin in teaching and practicing swimming strokes and movements.
We will begin using the pool at work towards learning/improving swim technique.
It is important to have an open mind in regards to learning new swim movements and maneuvers.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Are you learning to swim, or are you learning to improve your current swim capabilities? Either answer is a good one.
