About Julia
I am reliable and personable. I take pride in my work, and I am open to feedback in order to improve my teaching skills/methods.
I enjoy seeing growth/progress in my students' learning. It's exciting for students to reach their personal goals, and to see them gain confidence in their abilities.
Swim Instructor Experience: I began teaching private swim lessons 15 years ago. I then worked for Kids First Swim School, and I learned methods for teaching students of varying swimming abilties.
Teaching Experience: I was a substitute teacher before I went on to receive my Masters of Arts in Teaching. I am currently an elementary school teacher, I am passionate about teaching my content (visual art), as well as other skills.
I am an elementary visual arts teacher. I swam competitively for 11 years, and I have experience in teaching swimmers of varying abilities.

I like to meet with students/parents prior to beginning lessons. We discuss goals, timelines, and we structure a schedule that meets the needs of all participants.
As a swimming instructor, I have worked with students between the ages of 2-15 years of age. In my school, I work with students in grades Kindergarten-5, including students with advanced skills, English Language Learners, and students with special needs.
Time is an important factor in learning new skills. They may not come immediately, and there may be frustration along the way. If you are truly dedicated to your practice, then you will begin to see results in your progress.
