About Manik
My name is Manik Chhabra. I am a professional tennis coach with over 27 years of experience in the game as a player and 14 years as a Coach. I trained at one of the most prestigious academies of the United States for 13 years where I trained with top-notch Coaches and players - played with players who were ranked 1 in the nation. I was a top Super Champ in Texas all my junior career - won innumerable tournaments. I am also a 5.0 level tennis player (Division 1 level) and played College tennis at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where we won the 2012 NCAA tournament. I have played some pro-level tournaments and have taken several students to the top of the game - beginner, intermediate and advanced. I trained a women's tennis player who is ranked 31 in the world at the moment. My core tenets are technique, tactics, mental/ emotional and fitness. I am very thorough with my methods and provide constant feedback on the development of the students game. I also provide VIDEO ANALYSIS to help further the player's development, along with post-video analysis after lessons. I teach in the Manhattan area, where I have access to a tennis court. I am purely devoted to amplifying your tennis game according to my core tenets. It took me 27 years to get to my level but I want you to get there in 2 years, which is a definite possibility. Furthermore, I enjoy what I do because I like to create positive change in people's lives, as the results from tennis lessons may impact your daily life.
Back in 2010 when I realized that teaching improved my game tremendously, as well as improving other people's game. There is a mutual benefit.
I have a neuroscience degree and thus, I am very analytical when observing your tennis stroke. I enjoy biophysics, as it is the science behind tennis.

First, I gauge their tennis level by asking him/her questions about his/her prior experience with tennis. Second, I ask the student what his/her short term and long term goals are in tennis. Third, I give them advice on technique, tactics, mental/emotional or fitness based on my analysis in the lesson. Lastly, the tennis process begins and we discover quick improvements in your game.
I have worked with people who have never held a racquet all the way up to national level tennis players. Beginner to Intermediate to Advanced.

They should list their short term goals in tennis and their long term goals. It should be hand-written, as it helps make improvement faster. Based on what they need, the instructor will provide the solution.

Perfect! It was a pleasure to take lessons from Manik. His knowledge of tennis is extensive and his lessons have substance and depth. He was able to quickly determine areas I needed to improve and developed a plan to address the weaknesses. Manik is a great coach and a super nice guy. He is easy to work with, always willing to customize the lessons and drills to best suit his client's gameplay and preferences. My 15-yr old daughter took lessons with Manik for a month this summer. Through these lessons Manik showed that he cared not only about her tennis skills but also her overall health and fitness. She's usually very quiet and shy, but it was rewarding for me as a parent to see her looking forward to a lesson and coming home so energized and happy. I highly recommend Manik as a tennis instructor, no matter what level you're at. We will look him up again next time.
I've been working with Manik for around 8 months after not playing for years and have improved rapidly. I would recommend him if you want to improve your game.
He is very professional and very quick at providing solutions regarding my own tennis experience. He does give immediate feedback. He is honest, direct and very enthusiastic! I can really see how passionate he is about the game!
Manik has many years of experience as a coach and tennis player. His methodology of teaching is very effective since he focuses on breaking down the groundstrokes in different steps so the players can better understand the biomechanics involved in tennis.
