About Brooke

I recently graduated with my B.S. in Biology from Marymount University and I will be starting medical school in July of 2020. I have excelled in academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities throughout high school and college. Attending Conrad Schools of Science for high school, I became Conrad's first all-state swimmer as well as their first all-state singer. I added to my accolades when I brought home a silver medal at Age-Group Triathlon World Championships my junior year of college. I graduated from Conrad with honors, in the top 10 percent of my class, and with a significant academic scholarship to Marymount University. Though my high school career ended in a success, it was not without struggles. My freshman year, high school biology teacher still tells the story of the student who failed her first exam, only to have the highest scores in the class from the midterm on. That student was me. The study skills I learned to succeed from then on have allowed me to create an understanding of the subject matter that I have applied in my university classes, and in cancer research. I hope to share my study skills, understanding, and enthusiasm for biology or for academia with you!

I never understood how important study skills were until I stepped into my first biology class at Marymount University. I ended the semester, and the following semester with the highest grade in my class and it was to the credit of the skills and understandings I had developed in high school. As a student-athlete at Marymount, I was a member of the cross country team, the honors program, and a board member of the American Medical Student Association chapter at Marymount. I graduated with a 3.93 GPA. Though biology is my passion, I love to read and write. During my multiple writing intensive classes and three English classes at Marymount, I have never received less than an A.

My ultimate goal is to use my passion for helping others and for biology with a career in medicine. I believe that each student is unique and therefore each student has a unique learning style. I hope to use my knowledge, understandings, and experiences to help you as a student find, refine, or develop your learning style in order for you to succeed in academics. As a patient and understanding tutor, I can share study strategies that have worked for me while helping you with course material. I would love to help you succeed!
