About Tim
I am a seasoned tutor and lecturer with extensive experience supporting students across all academic levels in theology, philosophy, and ethics. Over the past two decades, I have helped hundreds of learners improve their essay writing and critical thinking, including students at GCSE, A-level, and university. As the editor-in-chief for a published academic journal, having a First Class MA, and currently completing a PhD, I bring academic rigour and practical insights into effective essay construction. I provide tailored essay writing tuition designed to help students at GCSE, A-level, undergraduate, and adult learning stages develop clear, persuasive, and well-structured academic writing skills. Each lesson is personalised to meet your current challenges, whether that’s understanding essay prompts, crafting strong thesis statements, organising arguments, or mastering referencing styles. My approach combines practical techniques with in-depth feedback. We’ll work on brainstorming ideas, planning your essays, refining drafts, and polishing language for clarity and impact. I also teach critical engagement skills essential to constructing compelling arguments and working with scholarly sources confidently. Lessons typically last 60 minutes but can be adapted to suit your concentration and workload. I provide ongoing support between sessions, including feedback on written drafts and guidance on time management to overcome procrastination and writer’s block. With over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience, including mentoring degree students and marking university essays, I understand exactly what academic assessors look for. Whether you’re preparing for exams, coursework, or dissertation writing, I’m here to help you improve your grades and gain confidence in your writing.
