About Victoria
I’m a professional watercolor artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in watercolor painting from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. I regularly exhibit my work in galleries across the U.S., and my paintings have been featured in international art magazines. With years of experience teaching both group workshops and individual lessons, I’ve helped hundreds of students (from complete beginners to returning artists) build confidence, develop skills, and reconnect with their creativity.

I love helping beginners feel confident with a medium that often feels intimidating at first. My teaching style is encouraging, calming, and hands-on. I believe everyone can paint, and my goal is to help students feel relaxed and inspired while building real skills.
In a typical lesson, we’ll begin with a short warm-up or technique exercise (like wet on wet/wet on dry, washes, layering, or brush control), then move into a guided project where you’ll apply those techniques in a low-pressure, creative way. I walk you through each step, demonstrating live, and always leave room for questions and personal expression.
What sets me apart is my approach: I blend classical training with a focus on mindfulness and joy in the process. Many students tell me they’re surprised by how peaceful they feel during class, that it’s as much about self-care as it is about painting. I teach you not only how to paint, but also how to see and respond to the medium with confidence.
My lessons are perfect for adult beginners, casual hobbyists, and anyone who’s curious about watercolor and wants to learn in a supportive, welcoming environment. I can also help you refine your already existing skills if you are more of an intermediate level painter.
Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or returning to art after years away, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow from there.

Perfect! I just had my first watercolor lesson with Victoria. The was excellent and we painted a first project together. She went over supply recommendations, some shading techniques, and a general understanding of color values. I'm excited for my second lesson next week!
