About Josh

I am a Biology tutor with 8 years of experience and an MSc in Biotechnology. I have taught over 300 students from GCSE through to undergraduate level across a wide range of biological sciences topics. My lessons cover cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, ecology, anatomy, physiology, and evolutionary biology. I am genuinely passionate about helping students discover the extraordinary logic and complexity of living systems. My teaching approach is systematic, clear, and always adapted to the specific examination board and level of each student. About the lesson

My Biology lessons are structured to develop genuine conceptual understanding that goes well beyond surface memorization in every session. Every session opens with a focused review of previous content to consolidate learning and address any misconceptions before new material is introduced. Cell biology sessions cover organelle structure and function, membrane transport mechanisms, cell division, respiration, and photosynthesis using detailed annotated diagrams with clear logical explanations at every step. Genetics topics are covered comprehensively including Mendelian and non-Mendelian inheritance, molecular genetics, gene expression and regulation, genetic mutation, and modern genetic technology applications. Ecology is taught through real environmental case studies and current conservation challenges to make theoretical principles concrete and genuinely engaging. Human physiology is taught systematically by organ system using clear anatomical diagrams that connect structure directly to physiological function. I use real past paper questions throughout every lesson to develop examination technique alongside content knowledge simultaneously. A-Level students receive specific coaching on required practical techniques, experimental design, and scientific data analysis skills. Clear structured notes and a set of targeted practice questions are provided after every session. My commitment is for every student to understand Biology at a genuinely deep level and perform at their best in all examinations.
