About Mehrnaz
I am a biomedical researcher under the National Institute of Health funded BUILD grant at California State University, Northridge. I also have over 5 years of experience tutoring both high school and college students in Math and Chemistry.
I love tutoring because it offers me a way to inspire students in the same way I was inspired by amazing teachers and tutors I have had in the past. I truly believe that everyone can love math and science and learn to be good at it, it just requires some simple skills and tactics and a supportive environment where students feel they can make mistakes and learn from them without judgment.

My primary focus in a tutoring session is making sure my students learn the techniques they need to solve any problem given to them, especially problems that build upon prior knowledge. To do this, it is essential that they understand the basics and continue to practice them over time. To this end, I focus on reviewing past material and expanding upon new material in every session.
