About Brian
I started tutoring when I was in high school. I continued through college and graduate school. Afterward, I worked for such companies as Club Z Tutoring, Sylvan Learning Center and The Princeton Review.
I taught high school and middle school mathematics in the US and abroad. I have served as the head of mathematics in many districts and helped to raise math scores on end of course and standardized tests.

My approach is to reach students through communication. Making math relevant and understandable is more than just showing that I have the content knowledge. It is speaking in a way that makes sense to the learner. Analogies, comparisons, real-life experiences, etc can all be used to explain math concepts to those who do not understand the difficult procedures in math.
Typical lessons will involve me giving you what you need to be successful in your class and beyond. My students are usually tutored to the point of independence (meaning they have learned how to learn math and no longer need me). I tutor students from 6th -12th grades, college algebra and SAT/ACT math prep
