About Matt

I am a Mathematics tutor with 9 years of experience and an MSc in Mathematics. I have guided over 250 students from secondary school through to advanced undergraduate mathematics level. My lessons cover algebra, calculus, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, and pure mathematics across all levels from GCSE to university. I am passionate about developing genuine mathematical understanding and rigorous problem-solving ability in every student I teach. My approach is thorough, patient, and adapted to each student's level and examination requirements. About the lesson

My Math lessons follow a rigorous structured approach developing genuine conceptual understanding and reliable problem-solving skill simultaneously in every session. Every lesson opens with a targeted review of previous content to confirm understanding and address any remaining gaps before progressing. New concepts are explained using multiple carefully chosen approaches including visual diagrams, algebraic manipulation, and real-world application to find the method each student understands most naturally and intuitively. Calculus lessons develop differentiation and integration from first principles through all standard techniques to applied problems in rates of change, optimization, and integration applications. Algebra sessions develop robust equation solving, function theory, sequences, polynomials, and the algebraic reasoning skills required for all advanced mathematical topics. Pure mathematics topics including proof, complex numbers, and abstract algebraic structures are developed with full mathematical rigor and appropriate conceptual motivation. Statistics and probability are taught with genuine understanding of the underlying probability theory rather than mechanical formula application. I use real past examination questions consistently throughout every lesson to develop examination technique naturally alongside content knowledge. Clear notes and a graduated problem set are provided after every session. My commitment is for every student to approach any Mathematics examination with genuine conceptual confidence and consistent accuracy.
