About Altaf
Hi, I’m Altaf, an experienced Mathematics tutor and educator with 4+ years of teaching experience and 3,000+ hours of online teaching. I specialize in teaching Mathematics to students in Grades 6–12 and have worked extensively with students following US, UK, Canada & other international curricula.
My academic background includes a BTech in Civil Engineering, and I am currently pursuing a Master's degree (MSc) in Mathematics, which has further strengthened my understanding of advanced mathematical concepts.
Over the years, I have taught students with different learning levels, goals, and backgrounds, helping them develop stronger fundamentals and greater confidence in Mathematics.
My experience includes Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, SAT Math, ACT Math, AP Calculus, and IB Mathematics.
I believe that Mathematics becomes much easier when concepts are explained clearly and logically. I am patient with students, encourage questions, and adapt my explanations according to how each student learns best. My goal is not simply to help students solve today's problems, but to develop the mathematical thinking and confidence they can use independently.

I offer personalized 1-to-1 online Mathematics lessons for students in Grades 6–12, with a strong focus on the US, UK & International curricula. My classes cover Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, and advanced topics. I also help students prepare for SAT Math, ACT Math, AP Calculus AB/BC, and IB Mathematics.
My teaching approach is concept-first and problem-solving focused. I break difficult mathematical concepts into simple, logical steps and use visual explanations, worked examples, guided practice, and targeted questions to help students understand the “why” behind each method rather than simply memorizing formulas.
A typical lesson is personalized around the student's current level, school curriculum, and goals. We identify areas that need improvement, build the underlying concepts, practice progressively challenging problems, and finish with a quick review of key takeaways.
