About Tom
I have spent 15 years building machine learning and AI systems in industry, including founding AI and data science functions from scratch at three companies. My work has ranged from price optimisation software worth over £500k a year to AI products showcased in a $60M funding round, and I have led AI security and governance in regulated sectors including insurance, legal and banking. I run my own AI consultancy and teach because I enjoy it: there is a big gap between how AI is talked about and how it actually gets built, and I like closing that gap for people. First-class Mathematics degree. Based in Northamptonshire, teaching online.

AI is changing your industry and you need to actually understand it, not just nod along in meetings. That is what these sessions are for.
I teach AI the way industry practises it. Depending on where you are, that might mean: how large language models actually work and where they fail, how to use AI tools properly in your job, how to evaluate AI vendors and claims, prompt engineering and agentic workflows, retrieval and RAG systems, AI governance and security, or building your first real AI application end to end.
Typical students: professionals whose roles are being reshaped by AI, managers who need to make AI decisions without being bluffed, developers moving into AI engineering, and founders working out what is real and what is hype.
Sessions are online, practical, and built around your goals. We work with real tools and real examples, not slides. The first 30 minutes are free: we talk about where you are, where you want to get to, and I will tell you honestly whether and how I can help.
