About Lola
¡Hola! I’m a bilingual soprano and scholar with a PhD in Musicology, currently based in Spain. I have a background in Art History and have taught at both university and pre-university levels, guiding students to explore language, art, and culture in ways that feel alive and meaningful.
Having lived and worked between Mexico and Spain, I bring a cross-cultural perspective to my teaching. I’ve been a museum guide in some of Madrid’s major art institutions, including the Prado and the Reina Sofía, and I’ve lectured on topics connecting visual art, literature, and music. Since completing my PhD, I have worked as an independent researcher focused on early recordings and performance practices. These experiences have shaped my approach to teaching Spanish: every conversation becomes an opportunity to discover how language reflects the richness of culture.
I believe language learning should be engaging, rewarding, and deeply human. I also believe in the joy of lifelong learning and the value of discovering history and culture at any stage of life. My students are often professionals and intermediate learners who want to refine their expression, gain cultural fluency, and feel more confident speaking Spanish in real contexts—whether for travel, work, or intellectual curiosity.

My Spanish conversation lessons are designed for intermediate and advanced learners who wish to expand their vocabulary and confidence while engaging with meaningful cultural themes. Lessons focus primarily on conversation but include contextual grammar and vocabulary, always adapted to your goals and interests.
Each session centers on a topic drawn from art, culture, or history—ranging from discussions on Mexican muralism and Spanish cinema to conversations about daily life, travel, or literature. I prepare materials such as short readings, artworks, or prompts that inspire authentic dialogue. With many years of experience as an Art History lecturer and museum guide, I have an extensive selection of cultural material to draw upon. Together, we’ll design a personalized lesson plan that reflects your interests and curiosity.
Through guided conversation, you’ll improve pronunciation, expand your vocabulary, and gain fluency in expressing ideas naturally and precisely.
A typical lesson includes:
• Warm-up conversation and pronunciation focus, revisiting the main takeaways from the previous lesson
• Discussion of a selected cultural or artistic topic chosen in advance
• Targeted vocabulary and grammar integrated into the dialogue
• Reflective review to identify progress and set new goals
Progress is measured through reflective check-ins every few lessons. Together, we assess how comfortably you can communicate on different topics, how naturally your language flows, and how effectively you express complex ideas in Spanish.

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience had by the students of Lola.
Perfect! Lola is a very patient, knowledgeable teacher who encourages you to learn through different cultural forms such as music and art, which is a very rich and valuable way to learn a language!
Perfect! Lola's Spanish conversation lessons are just what I was looking for. Every session we discuss a topic to do with art or culture (something we share a passion for!) and Lola cleverly weaves in grammar and vocabulary as we go. We watch short videos, read texts and look at artworks together - sessions are never boring! Lola is a friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic teacher and I thoroughly recommend her classes.

She was my first singing teacher. I love to sing and sing at karaoke too and Lola has helped me gain confidence with my voice. She’s very detail oriented, she makes you feel safe in her class, and I’ve gained a lot of insight about how to sing and how to use my physical body and movements to enhance my voice. I am sure that anyone who takes lessons with Lola will be very pleased. Lola is not only a great coach, she is a wonderful person, as well! Thank you!

MéxicoLola P. Has been an excellent tutor. I start my learning six months ago. Her sessions are dynamics I feel very comfortable with her guide, learned a lot about my voice. I have felt great progress and I really like her technique..
She's really patient. During two years, she was my singing teacher and helped me to become more self-confident and overcome my shyness.
At the same time, she taught me to improve my singing technique.Lola is a great teacher! She has many tools and techniques to offer, and explains everything in great detail. She is very passionate about singing and teaching which reflects to her classes. Strongly recommend working with her if you want someone who cares about the emotional connection of the art of singing as well as the technique.
Lola has been my voice teacher for over a year now and I feel I have developed my singing skills significantly. I have learned to be more in tune with how I sing, and what goes on when I sing. I can also notice when I create unnecessary tension or breathe shallow. I've felt much freer while singing and enjoy it much much more! Lola is very down to earth and relaxed and has helped me enjoy singing my own songs. She's great!
