I have observed Sophia as an instructor in the virtual classroom many times, and have always been impressed by the passion, level of engagement, and obvious sense of caring and warmth she was able to impart in her teaching- even online. Sophia puts her all into whatever task she takes on, and possesses a wide knowledge and skill base to share with students.

I had the privilege of being a student in Mrs. E.'s Fashion History and Fashion Retail Management Program courses with the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

Mrs. E. possesses the incredible gift of educating her students with historical facts and encouragement while challenging her students to further develop their understanding and knowledge on a subject. She is able to coax out a student's true potential and from my personal experience and observation has a strong instinct in recognizing those students whose strength and determination for achieving their potential, and for moving in a solid direction for a career in this field, is realized.

Mrs. E. is a highly intelligent, educated, well traveled, wise counselor, who maintains her professional position as she teaches her students to think, reason, research, test and apply the information taught from her syllabus and even farther, challenging us in how these can apply in our career and life goals. When in her classes, students were always respected as individuals.

On a personal note, years now after completing my studies, I have had the privilege of re-connecting with Mrs. E. outside of college and as one of my three mentors. I look up to her as a professional and as a strong, innovative, trusted woman of great character. Her advice has always proven to be valuable.
