About Alexandra
I am a fourth year Fibre Art student at Concordia and I have been knitting and crocheting for 5 years, hand embroidering for four years, and weaving for nearly two years, with a focus in tapestry. I also know how to do dry felting and wet felting, and the basics of pattern making and machine sewing.

My teaching methods are about meeting students where they are at. I am a flexible tutor: I figure out what the student needs for a given session or assignment, and then I go from there to give the guidance they may need. I am patient, because I am a student too and I know how important it is to have gentle but focused help. Most importantly, I know that while many fibre art techniques have a steep learning curve at the beginning, with the right support and guidance, fibre arts can be fun!

Alexandra is a kind-hearted and patient instructor. She has incredible art skills and experience with a variety of diverse mediums. I would definitely recommend her as a teacher :)
In teaching English, Alexandra is a native speaker with several years experience working in summer camps based on practicing language. She worked in the camp all throughout high school, along with me. In teaching fine arts, she is pursuing a degree in Fibre and Material Practices, earning acceptance to UBC and later deciding to transfer to Conrcordia. Besides instituions, her qualifications include making artwork for libraries growing up and more recently selling beanies she knits herself. As a person, she’s friendly and happy to teach!
Alexandra is a multitalented talented artist and caring art tutor who loves helping others develop their creative skills. She is super encouraging, incredibly organized, and enthusiastic about supporting the artist growth of her students. She has inspired and helped me in so many ways. I am sure she will do the same for you.
