About Ashlyn
I am a final semester Bachelor of Education student who has been working in education for 5 years. I have worked both as a full-time Teacher and as a private tutor in English, Math and Humanities. I am extremely passionate about working collaboratively with students to help them gain confidence and achieve their goals.
I consider my tutoring approach to be engaging, supportive and tailored to each individual student's learning needs.

I take a supportive and student-centered approach to tutoring, with an aim to build students' confidence and academic skills. My lessons are engaging, structured and tailored to the specific individual needs of each student. I have a heavy focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and using clear scaffolding to help students achieve their best
My lessons may include
- Modeling responses and writing techniques
- guided reading and comprehension activities
- brainstorming and plan support
- essay structure and paragraph writing
- vocabulary and literacy development
- exam preparation and revision strategies
- feedback and goal setting.
My lessons will usually go for 60 minutes but can be extended if needed during assessment and exam periods.
I am currently in my final semester of my Bachelor of Education (Secondary) majoring in English and Health and Physical Education. Additionally, I have 2 years experience as a Permission to Teach teacher teaching both English and Health and Physical Education to students from years 7-12.
My lessons are suitable for secondary students, particularly Years 7–12 English students, including those needing support with:
reading comprehension
essay writing
analytical responses
literacy skills
assignment support
exam preparation
confidence and organization in English.
