About Lucy
I am in my final year of French and Italian at the University of Exeter and I have just finished my year abroad in Sardinia and Paris. In both locations, I was based in the education field and learned a lot about both teaching to a class and how to make lesson resources behind the scenes.
I am a language lover and a linguistics nerd, so I am more than happy to help other people begin their language-learning journeys.

I have just finished a seven-month assistantship in Sardinia at a state secondary school, helping 14-18 year old Italian students learn English. Despite teaching English, my Italian skills came into good practice both in the streets and the classroom!
I started Italian from beginner's level when I started university back in 2021. Since then I have learned so much, and after experiencing la dolce vita, I can say that I truly love Italian language and culture. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with beginner learners, whether it be to pick up some vocab before your holiday, or if you wanted to speak to a person rather than a green owl.
With a year of language teaching under my belt, I have learned how to make learning fun and engaging - I'm a big believer that it shouldn't be taught straight from the textbook!
I have experience working with 10-18 year olds, but I am more than happy to work with any age.
Lessons will normally last one hour, but happy to shorten or extend if you let me know in advance.
