About Jack
My background is in molecular and cellular biochemistry at Oxford, and I now work in computational enzymology, using advanced applications of biochemistry and quantum physics to simulate how molecular systems behave. This interdisciplinary perspective helps me explain difficult ideas in physics, maths, biology and chemistry from more than one angle. My drive to teach comes from my enjoyment and satisfaction in turning complex concepts into clear, intuitive building blocks, allowing me to help students become confident problem-solvers.

My teaching style is highly responsive, approachable and tailored to each individual student. I make sure that every lesson, explanation and question directly addresses the areas they find most difficult. To improve exam performance, I work first to inspire confidence in my students. This means working towards their unique learning style in line with the exam board, not just a one size fits all approach.
My background in physics-based enzyme simulations, coupled with my hands-on work in cellular biochemistry gives me a wider scope of understanding. I encourage students to ask deeper questions and develop a genuine understanding of the science behind the syllabus, giving them a more robust skillset to face any exam with new or unfamiliar applications of established topics, calmly and effectively.
