I have been assisting a Sheffield Economics student with econometrics and microeconomics modules for the last year. They achieved 84% in their econometrics and a first in their microeconomics module. I have studied Finance at Durham University and am about to do a Finance MSc at Cass Business School.

My teaching method has to be pragmatic - without any practical application/questioning of any mathematical topics covered, I believe the knowledge becomes easily forgotten. I have found recall of difficult topics is helped by understanding the context behind knowledge. I encourage topics to move at the pace that the student needs, and an open, inquisitive and questioning environment is the most stimulating.
