About Melina

I am an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of San Diego with a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Miami. I am passionate about helping students understand finance and helping them develop the confidence to succeed academically.
My teaching experience includes corporate finance, investments, and other finance courses. Having taught students from diverse backgrounds, I tailor my approach to meet each individual's needs, using clear explanations and practical examples to make the material accessible and engaging.

About the lesson

My approach emphasizes personalized instruction and practical examples. I focus on helping students understand the core concepts to build problem-solving skills. I adapt to each individual's learning style and break down complex into manageable steps.
Each lesson will begin by identifying the goal for the session and pinpointing which concepts/problems the student struggles most with. We will work through examples together and I will explain the concepts within the context of the problem. Lessons will be tailored to each student's needs.
