About Shaun
My name is Shaun Richardson and I am currently a 3rd-year university student majoring in physics.
Why physics? Well, I liked maths and physics in high school and I had many inspiring and enthusiastic teachers. I pursued physics in uni because I was interested in astrophysics and this year I was very excited to be able to use some research quality telescopes in two projects, where I estimated the age of a galaxy over 3000 lightyears away and also estimated the rotation curve of our Milky Way galaxy which strongly hints at the existence of dark matter.
I love to find practical ways to use what I have learned in my studies to explain the things around me, such as how my thermo water bottle is able to keep things cool from thermodynamics or why the sunset appears red because of how light from the sun interacts with our atmosphere.
Something I like to do in my spare time is play squash for some regular exercise and socialising. I also organise a group to play squash weekly to make sure there are enough people each week and everyone is looked after.
Another hobby of mine is music. I love to arrange songs for solo ukulele or violin or with a group of friends. I’m so glad I am able to continue music through university because I really enjoy it and it's great fun to play with friends.

I have experience in tutoring multiple ATAR students. I am also working part-time at KUMON, teaching Mathematics and English to students of all ages and difficulties.
I can provide additional resources (from notes, practice questions, pass exams, etc) for Year 11 & 12 subjects. I am able to teach from books of your choice if you wish.
I tutor in 1-hour one-on-one sessions but can do longer sessions by negotiation and charge $40/hr.
