While I have not tutored English specifically before, I have an excellent grasp of English language and grammar, and a wide vocabulary. Reading is one of my favourite pastimes, and I am also a skilled writer in a variety of genres: academic, communicative and creative. My hope is that in tutoring English I would instil not only an academic knowledge of the English language and how it is used, but a genuine love of it as well. I am flexible in how to achieve this, whether it is following a school's curriculum or something more specialised.
I am writing my thesis for a PhD in chemical engineering, and I want to do professional research in the future. I have been privately tutoring one high school student in mathematics for two years, and have done one off or intermittent lessons with others in maths and chemistry.
