About Jane
Hi, I'm Jane, and I'm an English Tutor!
Having had the incredible opportunity to study at the University of Oxford, where I was immersed in a profound culture of critical exchange, I have been inspired to share the love of learning fostered there with others.
I firmly believe that the journey of learning should not only be fulfilling and enjoyable, but focused on building skills that nurture individuals toward lifelong success.
I endeavour to teach in a way that is warm and approachable.
Our sessions are a mix of student-led discussion for critical ideas to blossom; instructed teaching to solidify core concepts; and overall a goal of encouraging a love - or at least like - for learning!
My teaching is always a judgement-free space. I prioritise open dialogue, celebrating individual success, and ensuring no one feels anxious or pressured towards my sessions.

I am as flexible as your needs are!
Tutoring:
In our 45 minute sessions, we will engage in an *active learning* style of teaching. This means I won't sit and talk at you - but allow you to take ownership of our sessions.
Our sessions are a mix of discussion-based, learner-centred, and instructed learning.
This means my students are able to benefit from a combination of teaching methods, which will empower them to use their critical thinking skills, receive the necessary support to build a strong understanding of core concepts, and engage in meaningful critical exchanges.

This allows us together to craft a compelling, unique, and importantly authentic personal statement or essay that communicates your story and showcases your potential to meaningfully contribute to your universities of choice.
As an Oxbridge experienced applicant and graduate, I am able to guide you on how to succeed in getting into the most prestigious and selective institutions in the world.
Where needed, we will also cover interview technique, entrance exams, and other admissions preparation to give you the best chance of entering your dream university.
