About Laila

I'm a first-year medical student at Imperial College London, with a deep passion for learning, teaching, and problem-solving. I achieved 4 A*s at A-level (biology, chemistry, maths and psychology) and 10 Grade 9s at GCSE. I earned Gold awards in the UKMT Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Maths Challenges, as well as competing in national Biology, Maths and Chemistry Olympiads. These experiences not only shaped how I think and learn, they also fuel my desire to help others develop the same skills to problem-solve and love STEM. Through running a Biology Club for younger students and leading my school’s STEM magazine, I discovered how much I enjoy teaching and sparking enthusiasm for science and maths. I love helping students grasp difficult ideas, build confidence, and go beyond what they thought they could do. As a tutor, my goal is to support every student—whether you're aiming for top grades, preparing for an exam, or just trying to feel more confident in class. I tailor each session to your needs, and I’m always happy to move at your pace. GCSE & KS3 Science & Maths Tutor – Medical Student Hi! I'm a first-year medical student at Imperial College London offering friendly, focused tutoring in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths up to GCSE level. My background I achieved A*A*A* in A-level Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, and Grade 9s in all my GCSEs, including the sciences and maths. While at school, I led a Biology Club for Years senior school students, helping them grasp tricky concepts with fun, interactive sessions. My teaching style I use a clear, step-by-step approach that adapts to how you learn best, whether that’s through worked examples, visuals, active recall, or breaking things down with analogies. I focus on building confidence and solid exam technique alongside subject knowledge. Lesson length Each session lasts up to 1 hour, with time for reviewing tricky topics, practising exam-style questions, and going over anything that wasn’t clear in school.
