About Penny
Hi! I’m a Mathematics student at Durham University with a passion for both maths and teaching.
I completed A-level Maths and Further Maths last year, so I understand very well how demanding maths can sometimes feel. I enjoy helping students gain confidence by breaking difficult ideas into smaller, clearer steps and creating a relaxed environment where questions are always welcome.
Outside academics, I also enjoy music and piano, and I value patience, communication, and creativity in the way I teach.

Having completed A-level Maths (total mark 285/300) and Further Maths (281/300）myself quite recently, I’m very familiar with common exam techniques, problem-solving approaches, and the areas students often struggle with.
My teaching style focuses on building understanding rather than memorising methods. I like to break difficult concepts into smaller steps, explain the logic behind solutions, and adapt lessons depending on each student’s pace and confidence level.
