I earned my degree in mathematics and a teaching certification for grades 7-12, so I studied to understand all aspects of the child's education process.
As a teacher, I try to make the content digestible and create opportunities to understand its foundational aspects.
My lessons are designed to be with the 5 E (engage, explore, explain, elaborate, evaluate), or I do, we do, then I do. Depending on the content, it will adjust and scaffold the content to build on prior knowledge. I take the time to reflect on my lessons and try to change them to help fill in the gaps that we miss.
