I base my lessons around the course outline that students bring to me, focussing on a new key aspect every lesson. Depending on the content involved with each concept, the amount of time I will spend explaining and teaching will slightly vary. The structure of my lessons are very simple: I explain the concept in question, provide examples, assign quick problems that engage the class and then allow time for any doubts or questions to be answered.
I am a second-year interstate medical science student currently studying at Flinders University, SA who has completed WACE Applications (97%), Methods (88%) and Specialist (82%) in Year 11 and 12. I also have had teaching experience before as an assistant violin teacher at my local music school, helping students prepare for their AMEB exams
In the past, I have had three experiences working with students. My first and longest experience was when I assisted in teaching the violin to children at my local music school. I was initially a student there, and then later came back as a teacher. I worked there during the school holidays in year 11 and year 12 teaching primary school students musical pieces that they had chosen to play for their AMEB exams.
I also have had experience working at a Kumon tuition centre, helping teach and mark students' answer sheets every school holiday since year 11. This also involved explaining mathematical concepts to students from years 5 to 9 in a way that would be beneficial to their learning process.
I have also previously gained experience working with students in a university setting. For approximately a week, I worked in the administrative department of the Notre Dame university, frequently talking to prospective students and helping them decide which bachelor's degrees would be best suited to their interests and future career opportunities.
