About Aira
My name is Aira, I'm Brazilian and I arrived in Sydney, Australia right after finishing school (College of Application - UFRGS). At the moment I'm trying to get a certificate 3 in cinema because I'm going to be a filmmaker and I'm going to help in the Brazilian film industry. But why do I want to teach Portuguese if it has nothing to do with cinema? Of course there is! Firstly, because I want to present this fantastic language to curious people who would like to understand how it works (and it's even similar to Spanish!), secondly, as I will apply different ways to teach this language, one of the examples will be films! How many Brazilian films do you know? None? 1 or 2? Brazilian films are unfortunately very little seen around the world, so I want to present them during classes, as they have their value and deserve to be presented to other people, we are great at the comedy genre, believe me!

I have always loved teaching. I've always been concerned about helping others, especially because knowledge must be shared! I helped my sister and friends with Portuguese many times. And as I come from a place that loves to improvise, I created more fun methods to learn Portuguese, with games, songs, movies, and even making typical dishes! Using our imagination as a study method makes everything lighter and more fun!
Applying this more differentiated form of teaching and which brings good results can make it easier for people to learn. Furthermore, they will have good experiences about how Brazil has a wonderful side beyond carnival and football. It is a country with an exciting history, great diversity and a fight for freedom!
