About Luiza

I am a professional language tutor with more than 5 years of experience teaching Spanish. I have taught students in Brazil, Spain, France, Argentina, South Korea, China, and the United States. Education has always been a great passion of mine and I try to help my students reach their maximum potential.

For the last several years, I have taught students of all ages and Spanish levels. My students have consistently improved test scores, received promotions, fulfilled other language learning goals, and found tremendous confidence using Spanish.

I have also lived in Buenos Aires, Madrid and Valencia.

About the lesson

I have been teaching individual and group lessons since 2014, working with students from all around the world. As a language student myself - in addition to Spanish, I also speak English, French and Portuguese fluently - I understand the joys and obstacles of immersing oneself in a new language.

I absolutely love teaching and supporting my students as they work toward their goals. Even more, I strive to instill confidence and familiarity with the language, so that my students may take advantage of all the opportunities that speaking Spanish can offer. Did you know it's the 4th language most spoken around the world?

Some important information about my classes:

- I have expertise in enhancing listening and reading comprehension, working on pronunciation and intonation, strengthening writing and vocabulary.

- I ALWAYS tailor my classes to a student's needs, goals and interests. Have a test coming up? I'll teach you the best strategies to increase your scores and get the best results possible. You like to read? Let's pick a novel to read together to work on your vocabulary! You're a Netflix addict? We'll use Spanish-speaking shows to improve your pronunciation and pick up new slang.

- I provide detailed feedback after every class (and I invite you to do the same! I'm always looking for new ways to learn and improve).

- In conversation classes, we focus on fluency, accuracy, comfort and confidence when speaking Spanish. We also work on pronunciation and intonation.

- In writing classes, we use Skype and Google Docs to look at and correct your writing together. I don't take a passive approach to learning! We work on sentence structure, punctuation, grammar, and vocabulary.

- For students interested in intensive classes with reading, listening, writing, vocabulary, and grammar exercises, I provide all the materials to help you thrive and excel.

- I also offer classes to help you prepare for presentations and/or job interviews. This includes practice sessions, templates to help you organize your answers to potential interview questions, etc. All this to enable you to feel confident and calm on your big day.

- My classes are also fun, as this is such an important part of language learning!

- Classes are taught 5 days a week, Monday through Friday.

- The first class is free!
