About Emily
Hi! I’m Emily, a friendly and supportive science tutor with experience working in a secondary school.
I decided to tutor because I know that science can sometimes feel overwhelming at GCSE level, especially when there’s lots of content and exam pressure. I really enjoy helping students break topics down into simple ideas so they start to make sense.
My goal is to make lessons relaxed and encouraging, where you can ask any question without feeling worried about getting things wrong. Everyone learns differently, so I tailor sessions to what works best for you. I can explain concepts in a different way, practise exam techniques or revise tricky topics.
I want my students to leave lessons feeling more confident in science and enjoy the subject as much as me

Hi! I’m an experienced secondary school teacher offering GCSE Science tutoring for students who want to build confidence, improve grades, and understand the subject rather than just memorise it.
I previously worked as head of science in a secondary school supporting students across KS3 and GCSE science, helping them prepare for exams and strengthen key concepts in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I understand how the GCSE curriculum works and how to explain tricky topics in a way that actually makes sense.
My lessons are:

Focused on exam technique and past paper practice
Designed to build confidence as well as knowledge
I’m DBS checked and experienced working with teenagers of different abilities, including those who may struggle with confidence in science and aiming for a grade 4 to pushing students to a grade 9.
Based in South West London (Earlsfield/Wandsworth)
